Another death in Imo state by gunmen. It was reported on Wednesday the 8th of December that gun men invaded Etekwuru, an autonomous community in the Ohaji/ Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State killed 2 people and destroyed properties worth millions and got many villagers injured in the process.

The people are agitated and they can’t really explain why the gun men invaded the community, this is scaring because having gun men come into a community without knowing their motives keeps the people in fear knowing that this could happen again.

The traditional ruler of the community, Eze Kenneth Okereke, who confirmed the attack ,called on security agents to come to the rescue of his subjects. This has never happened in the community which explains why he people are in great shock after the shootout.

On October 21, some gunmen burnt the palace and official vehicle of the traditional ruler of the community when they invaded his home in an attempt to kill him.

The attack on the palace of the monarch came two days after some hoodlums and military men clashed in the community.

The monarch had written a letter to the state governor, Hope Uzodinma, intimating him that he had been in exile and requesting assistance.
