I was really worried about the phrase “yahoo boys” because it is now a thing of concern in my country, the confusion, the abuses, the disrespect and lies against young boys all in the name of yahoo, I got really confused because I felt I didn’t understand what it means to be a yahoo boy.
On one occasion I asked my sister, who a yahoo boy is? She laughed and was also perplexed as to why I asked such a question. I didn’t stop there I decided to browse a proper definition of the phrase “yahoo boy” and I realized the injustices done to young boys in my society all in the name of yahoo.
Here is the definition I got from the internet, the “yahoo boys” stay in physical communes of like-minded individuals and use this network to launch internet attacks. They share information on a particular target and find new ways of making prospective targets yield to their deceit.
Who is a Yahoo boy?
This is the true definition of yahoo boys but the definition of a yahoo boy in my country is any young boy who looks good or rich, well dressed, nice perfumes, good shoes, a car, some cash in his account, once you fall under these categories you are regarded as a yahoo boy. The problem with this is that they disregard young boys who make legit efforts in life, they abuse people who overtime has faced life tussles and hustles and toiled the ground just to sustain oneself. This indeed is unfair. They make it look as though we have just useless lazy young people in our country who are not productive in anyway and this is a lie. They turn every young boy in my country into a deceiver and an internet criminal.
I was made to fill a form and one of the questions asked was, which body do you prefer, the police, the judiciary or the health sector? I chose neither of them because in one way or the other they have failed me. I don’t know about you but I have always yearned to leave my country because of the numerous wrongs my country has done me, I recently started changing this mindset anyway…
